Welcome to the Autumn edition of Inside Health

John_Fogarty_1_sml websize 2It wasn’t long ago that pain was just something people thought they just had to put up with. These days, we have a very different approach.

Medical professionals hold the view that pain is real, subjective and should be relieved. Consequently, through extensive research, we have seen the development of many new, contemporary therapies to manage pain more effectively.

In this issue, you will find information on how to manage pain and where to go for help. There is also some information on two very painful musculoskeletal conditions, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, and how best to minimise your risk and manage the symptoms.

There is also an insightful look into what it’s like being a new parent to a premature baby and how this time can be challenging. We hear from a midwife and a mother of a premature baby who offer their advice for this often difficult time.

I hope it makes for helpful and enjoyable reading.
